At Ally, we believe that sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s something we all need to take care of. That’s why we’re excited to share our new partnership with World Coffee Research (WCR), a global organization using science to help improve coffee production. This partnership shows our shared goal of supporting the future of coffee by helping farmers and communities grow coffee in smarter, more sustainable ways.
Who is World Coffee Research?
World Coffee Research is a non-profit organization working to protect the future of coffee. They’re funded by companies across the coffee industry and collaborate with researchers and institutions in coffee-producing countries. Their main focus is to create new coffee plant varieties that grow better, produce more, and can handle changes in climate. Their work helps farmers improve their crops and make a better living, while also helping the industry continue to deliver great coffee for years to come.
Becoming Allies
Ally Coffee’s goal is to bring people together throughout the coffee journey—from the farm to the final cup. We want to make sure the coffee world is fair, open, and focused on long-term solutions. That’s why partnering with World Coffee Research makes so much sense for us.
We’re proud to be taking part in the pre-commercial trials of WCR’s new generation of F1 hybrid varieties—coffees that represent a major leap forward in sustainability, quality, and resilience. These experimental varieties were developed over years of research and are now being tested in the field. The samples we’re receiving were grown at Aquiares Estate, a trusted partner of Ally Coffee based in Costa Rica, known for their innovative and responsible farming practices.
We’ll be roasting and cupping these samples soon, and we’re excited to share the results. Stay tuned to see how these new varieties perform on the cupping table and what they could mean for the future of coffee. To learn more about the F1 hybrid varieties, check out this overview by WCR.
Coffee community
This collaboration helps everyone in the coffee chain. For farmers, it means better access to new, stronger coffee plants that can resist disease and climate problems. For importers, roasters, and drinkers, it means a steady supply of high-quality coffee in the future.
More research brings more useful information. And having the right information helps people make better decisions—from choosing the right variety to improving how coffee is grown. This is how we move toward a future where everyone involved in coffee can benefit and grow together.
We’re proud to be part of this journey with World Coffee Research. At Ally Coffee, we’re committed to creating a coffee world where sustainability and collaboration are part of every step. Every cup of coffee has the power to support real change—and we’re working to make that future happen.
